How to register for Covid-19 Vaccination, if you are 18+

Corona Virus’s second wave had a huge impact on India. As per the official data, there are 28 lakh plus active cases and around 3 lakh active cases are emerging every single day.

To fight back against this pandemic situation government has started a vaccination drive. Initially, this vaccination drive is for Health workers, frontline workers, and people above 45 years. But now the government has declared that people above 18 can register themselves on the portal for vaccination.

From 4 PM on 28th of April, (as per official notice on-site) registration for vaccination will be started and the vaccination drive will start from 1st of May.

If you are 18+ and you want to get yourself register for vaccination drive than follow the given instructions.

Register for COVID-19 Vaccination through the portal

  1. Log on to www.cowin.gov.in
  2. Enter your Mobile Number
  3. An ‘OTP’ will be sent to your mobile number.
  4. Enter the “OTP” and click on “verify” to create your account
  5. Now, registration for the vaccination page appears.
  6. Choose the photo ID that you want to upload (to verify your age).
  7. Fill in your general details (name, age, gender)
  8. Upload your photo ID.
  9. After filling in all details, click on “REGISTER”.
  10. Once you register with it, the system will display the “Account Details” option to you. (Here you can see the details that you have entered)
  11. A person can add three more people with one mobile number. There will be an “Add More” button if you want to add more people.
  12. Now you can choose the vaccination center and date by clicking on the “SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT
  13. Search for vaccination center near you by district and pin code.
  14. After that Date and availability will be shown to you. Choose your date wisely and make sure you will be available that day for vaccination.
  15. Finally, click on the “BOOK” button.
  16. After successful registration, you will receive a message on your registered mobile number. That message has to be shown at the vaccination center, so keep that message with you while you visit the vaccination center.

Registration for age of 18 to 44 will be opened on 28 April 2021 at 4PM

Register for COVID-19 Vaccination through Aarogya Setu App

  1. Open Aarogya Setu App. Go to the ‘CoWIN’ tab.
  2. Under COWIN section  –> select ‘vaccination’ -> select “Register Now”
  3. Enter your mobile number (OTP will be sent to your this number).
  4. Click “Proceed to verify” -> Enter “OTP” received on your mobile number.
  5. After verification is done, upload your photo ID proof (as proof of your age).
  6.  Fill in your general details (name, age, gender).
  7. A person can add three more people with one mobile number. There will be an “Add More” button if you want to add more people.
  8. Now you can choose the vaccination center and date
  9. Search for a vaccination center near you by searching with district and pin code.
  10. After that Date and availability will be shown to you. Choose your date wisely and make sure you will be available that day for vaccination.
  11. Finally, click on the “BOOK” button.

What if you don’t prefer Government Hospitals

If you don’t want to get vaccinated in a government hospital or through registering yourself on the portal, you can also have an option to go to Private Hospitals. As per the third phase of the national vaccination drive, the manufacturers of vaccines are free to sell 50 percent doses of vaccine to state government and in the open market. The remaining 50 percent has to be supplied to the central government and the govt. will give that dose to health workers and people above 45 years.

Price of vaccine:

The prices that shown up for vaccine from Serum Institute of India are as follow

Rs.400 for State Government (Even though Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that they will provide free vaccine to all who are above 18).

Rs.600 to Private Hospitals (No further details available till now).

Make sure you Register for COVID-19 vaccination and get vaccinated. Don’t panic and please be inside your home as much as possible.
